World Environment Day 2023 will be celebrated on 5th June 2023 across the world. The theme for World Environment Day will focus on solutions to plastic pollution under the campaign #BeatPlasticPollution. The world is being inundated by plastic. More than 400 million tonnes of plastic is produced every year, half of which is designed to be used only once.The Republic of Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) is a country on the southern coast of West Africa and supported by the Netherlands will host World Environment Day 2023 .
Indian School Dar es Salaam celebrated World Environment Day by planting 750 trees.
The occasion was graced by H.E High Commissioner of India to Tanzania Mr. Binaya Pradhan, District commissioner Hon. Mwanahamisi Munkunda, Honorary chairperson and treasurer along with members SMC, Trustees planted trees at Indian School Dar es Salaam, neighboring schools, ward executive’s office, and at the orphanage located in the ward.
Efforts of all the students and staff members are highly appreciated for contributing towards a better environment.
